It was her special place. Well, really...it was a spot of mossy rock that was well hidden and off the regular treck for most of the clan; hidden behind trees and tall grasses - which were just beginning to die with the frost. Soon, her special place was bound to be found by a patrol - and she'd have to find a new one next year. Just as she always had to find new special places every year...
So on this...the last day of her special spotting...Faintspots was determined to make the most of it. With a newer name, and a new outlook on life, the youngster warrior was sprawled on her back across the craggy surface - allowed the weak warmth of the sun tickle her belly, while the chill, blustery wind of leafbare tugged against her sides and nearly made her eyes water from it's iciness. Three of her paws, she kept tucked in close to her chest - but one foreleg stuck straight up, as she drew lazy circles towards the canopy.
She daydreamed. She was a cat of Starclan (not dead yet; just powerful and spiritual) and her lazy paw twirlling was actually causing the leaves above her to dance with the wind. Oh, it was a glorious daydream; one that had entertained Faintspots for a long time - long enough for the little light above to turn from rosey pink to bright white-yellow.

Starwhisper crouched behind a holly bush and had to stifle her laughter. Faintspots was up ahead, crouching, drawing circles in the air. It was hard for the medicine cat not to giggle.

Oh, it was such a wonderful day. Faintspots could help but revell in the piece and quite...which wasn't all that quiet, of course! She could hear the last of the insects, who were not quite dead yet from the cold, buzzing as lazily as she felt - an occasion cricket chirp. Small animals - which she, currently, should have been trying to catch for feeding her clan, scurried about in the underleaves - crunching and munching and darting about like silly little nits. But the birds - Oh, the birds were the loudest...and her favorite. They chirped and giggled and...
Giggled?
"Hey!" The out of place noise brought Faintspots back to the present. Someone was watching her...and not just watching...laughing! Mousedung, somebody had evidently found her secret spot earlier than she had surmised. How embarassing.
She tried to cover it - really, really tried. But as she rolled to her paws, she seemed to have forgotten how small her rock really was. Her paws, once they were rolled beneath her, flounder in thin air, before she rolled unceremoniously into the crunch leaflitter at the base of the flat stone.
Now, cats usually land on their feet- and Faintspots was no exception. Her paws, in this case, just didn't stop her from continuing to role. As it was, with an indignat yowl, Faintspots continued to role until a particularly prickly Holly bush.
"Ow...Owowowowowowowowowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww" She moaned, as she kicked and squirmed - which simply helped her become more tangled beneath the prickly, glossy leaves. She stopped moving suddenly, however, when she noticed something dark standing on the other side of the bush. Panic, for a moment, swept through her. Unfortunately, as she sniffed deeply, recognizing the scent, embarassment took over once more.
"Starwhisper?!" She mewed. If the white and black spotted she cat could blush, she would have been red as a holly berry.

Starwhisper was helpless: She burst out laughing as Faintspots rolled off the rok into the holly bush. "S-sorry, Faintspots," she chortled. "I--I just saw you over here and--" She cut off because she was laughing so much.

Positively burning with blush beneath her fur, Faintspots did her best to brush off Starwhisper's appology. She was used to being the butt of many cat's laughter...but that usually didn't make it any easier. She liked the Medicine Cat, though - and knew she really wasn't trying to be mean.
"Oh, uh...It's, um...It's alright, Starwhisper...don't...don't..."
As she spoke, Faintspots started to once again struggle against being pinned beneath the holly bush. Prickly leaves tugged at her fur - and she seemed only to succeed in trapping herself worse every time she struggled. Finally she just gave up; pleaing pathetically to the Medicine Cat.
"Um...Starwhisper? Ya mind helping me a bit...I'm kinda...stuck..."

"Oh, oh yeah, of course, Faintspots," Starwhisper said. But she would have helped the warrior anyways, even if she hadn't asked. She carefully placed her paws around the thorns and cleared a small area for Faintspots to get out.

With an area free of prickles that she could now squirm herself through, Faintspots set to work. First, she rose to the tallest that she absolutely could without being further tangled, then, inching her way with tiny mousesteps, she made her way closer to the opening.
Her head came out first, follored eventually by her neck and shoulders. "Thank you." She politely purred, as she followed with the rest of her body. Finally, her tail slipped out and tucked itself neatly alonger her back, as she used it to idolly scratch a prickle itch.
